A Black History Devotion
Verse for the Day
“But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”
-Joshua 24:15 NLT
Quote for the Day
“You don’t make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering, and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas”.
-Shirley Chisholm

Word for the Day
The 2021 Black History Month National Theme centers on Family. We can all recover, revive, and restore a sense of worth and value in our families by remembering God built family before any other institution or movement in creation.
Our Family matters. With all its challenges, chaos, deficiencies, demands and problems; family is still the support system and institution upon which all of civilization stands. Our schools, communities and public institutions are but a reflection of family values and health.
So, let us help build strong families. Pray for our families. Protect our families. Its never too late to recover and redeem family life. Do what you can to build your family and bless other families.
Prayer for the Day
Lord, I pray Your emotional, physical, and spiritual protection over my family. Keep evil far from them and help them to trust You as their refuge and strength. I pray You will guard their minds from harmful instruction and grant them discernment to recognize truth. Let them know that the only safe place is in Jesus, and that their home on earth is only temporary. In Jesus Name, Amen.
