Day 19: The Oppressed Will Rise

 

Scripture: Psalm 146:7 (NIV)
"He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free."

 

Song: Negro Spiritual – "Oh, Freedom"
Oh, freedom, oh, freedom, oh, freedom over me, And before I’d be a slave, I’d be buried in my grave.

 

Reflection:
Oppression is never the final word. God is in the business of setting captives free—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. How are you participating in God’s mission of liberation? Freedom requires participation.

 

Prayer:
God of the oppressed, let me be part of Your freeing work. Help me to stand against injustice and lift up those who have been cast down. Amen.
