3 Days of Prayer & Fasting for our Nation.
Day 2
Verse for the Day
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,”
-Psalm 103:2-4 ESV
Quote for the Day
“Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our life.”
-Unknown
Word for the Day
I recently experienced a minor surgery and was given instructions on how to care for the wound. I think there were lessons in the process. First, a strong antibiotic to prevent infection. Then daily attentive cleaning, along with an ointment and clean bandage. Finally, removal of the bandage and fresh air to allow the wound to produce a scab and completely heal.
Our nation could use a dose of reality when it comes to the obvious racism and hatred we’ve displayed in recent years. In addition to this we need regular, clear, noble, and redemptive voices to keep our hearts clean. We also need daily applications of love, which can heal any hurt. Finally, we need good, authentic, and positive support relationships that can bind our wound up so that it can properly heal.
The healing we need comes most certainly from a full and complete surrender to the Lord, along with a sober and attentive devotion to our well-being. I am praying that people will come to believe and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
And I am also praying that my life begins to reflect in greater detail every day the Lord Jesus Christ.
Prayer for the Day
Almighty God, Ruler of all the peoples of the earth, forgive our shortcomings as a nation, purify our hearts to see and love the truth, give wisdom to our leaders, and steadfastness to our people, and bring us at last to that fair city of peace whose foundations are mercy, justice, and goodwill, of which you are the designer and builder, through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
