Hebrews 21:1 (NIV)

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Faith is so much bigger than football. Football is what we do. Faith is who we are.

 

 

Something to Think About

Well, its Super Bowl Sunday and millions of people all over the world will be watching and cheering for their favorite team. The competition will be at an all time high. In this festive occasion we should rejoice in life itself and the excitement and joy of watching sports.

 

But it would be a tragic mistake to make the biggest game of the football season a life-or-death matter. We live in a world filled with life and death situations. People are sick, struggling financially and suffering with far greater challenges than scoring the winning touchdown.

 

God wants you to be on the winning team, His team. True victory is overcoming sin . What is the game plan in order to be on heaven’s side? Think about it.

 

 

Prayer for the Day

Lord as many of us watch and cheer for our favorite team today, remind us of how important it is to be on Your team. Your team O God is the only winning team. We confess our sin and our shame, and we reach for You always. Bless the athletes that compete on the football field and keep them free of injury. Guide our feet, hands, and tongue so that we will not injure others. In Jesus name, Amen.
