"But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
We all experience moments of failure—times when we fall short of our own expectations, disappoint those around us, or struggle with sin and weakness. In those moments, it’s easy to feel unworthy, ashamed, or defeated. But the good news of the Gospel is that failure is never final when we are in Christ.
God’s grace meets us right where we are. He does not condemn us but invites us to lean on Him, allowing His strength to shine through our weaknesses. The apostle Paul understood this truth when he embraced his weaknesses as an opportunity for God’s power to be revealed. When we stumble, God is not surprised or disappointed—He is ready to lift us up, renew us, and lead us forward.
If you are struggling with failure today, take heart. God’s grace is sufficient. His love does not waver based on your performance. Instead of dwelling on your shortcomings, bring them to Him, trusting that He is working all things together for your good.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your grace that never runs out. In my moments of failure, help me to remember that Your power is made perfect in my weakness. Teach me to lean on You, to trust in Your forgiveness, and to rise again with confidence in Your love. May I walk forward in the strength of Your grace, knowing that You are always with me. May I always show Grace to others in their moment of failure as well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
