betrayal

Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.  -Matthew 26:14-16

Wednesday: The Betrayal – Faithfulness When Others Fail

Judas betrays Jesus for silver. Betrayal is painful, especially when it comes from within. Jesus knows this pain intimately.

Reflection:
Our community has faced betrayal—not only from external forces, but sometimes from within. Yet even when others falter, Jesus remains faithful. He walks toward the cross with steadfast love. We are called to walk forward, too, trusting that God will vindicate us.

Two Things to Do Today:

  • Forgive someone — even if just in prayer — who has hurt or disappointed you deeply.
  • Affirm someone’s faithfulness in your life. Let them know their consistency and love matter.

Prayer:
Faithful God, even when we feel abandoned or betrayed, remind us that You remain with us. Give us strength to persevere with integrity and grace. Amen.
