19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” - Matthew 13:19-23
There is power and life in the Word of God. God speaks to us through his Word, the Holy Bible. If we are to have a healthy relationship with God we must hear from God. The quality of our relationships in life are based in large part on the quantity and quality of time we spend with that significant person.
Consider the parable in the Matthew 13 text. The text speaks of a sower, seed and soil. The meaning and application of the text is simple. There are various ways that we can respond to God's Word. The best response is the intentional, receptive, sincere , honest response to the hearing, reading, teaching and preaching of the Bible.
Consider the time you spend reading and hearing God's Word. Rededicate yourself to daily bible study. Become familiar with the Bible and even more familiar with your Heavenly Father who loves you with an everlasting love.
