Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. - 2 Corinthians 9:6
During the season of Advent we consider themes like Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. These themes are accompanied by preparation and expectation for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Advent looks backward and forward reflecting on the first advent of Christ with thanksgiving and looking forward to the second advent of Christ with worshipful reverence and sober personal reflection. It is a season of preparation.
Perhaps during this time, we should do more than reflect. During this season God is inviting us to participate. This time of year is not only about worship and receiving gifts it's also about sowing good seeds into the lives of others. Instead of discord, division, animosity, hatred, jealousy, competitiveness and vengeance. We need more love, compassion, forgiveness, support, encouragement and understanding. Our culture is chaotic and toxic, but each one of us can be difference makers in the world by sowing "good" seeds of Hope and Unity. Our sins do not disqualify us, instead we should repent and confess them to the Father, receive His forgiveness and be determined to sow "good" seeds with the rest of our life. Stop worrying about the harvest. The harvest is in God's hands. Just sow "good" seeds.
Feeling better is usually the result of doing better. What we need in our life is often supplied by what we are willing to give. Seek to be generous in the meaningful relationships of your life. During this season Advent, be encouraged to sow "good" seeds. Sow seeds of encouragement, support, love , understanding, patience, compassion, and forgiveness. No matter what comes your way in these closing weeks of 2020, keep sowing "good" seeds. You will feel better and be better.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I seek your strength and your peace...your deliverance. Open my eyes to the life experiences of those around me and use me to bless others. Where there is emptiness in my life fill it with your presence and provisions. I love you Lord, and my life is in your hands. Bless the seeds I sow daily and let them produce a bountiful harvest. In Jesus name, Amen.
