"for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes." - Proverbs 24:16

We fall down but we get up. We fall down but we get up. We fall down but we get up, oh yes. For a saint is just a sinner who fell down. But we couldn't stay there and got up.

Those lyrics to Donnie McClurkin's  gospel song are timeless words that speak to millions of people who know the pain of failure and the snare of temptation. It teaches an important principle in Christian discipleship, Christians make mistakes and often experience failure in some area of life. It would be helpful and healthy for Christian believers to acknowledge their mistakes and failures in order to be healed and delivered from them. There is little profit in pretending that we are perfect and without fault or failures in our life.

The glory and amazing grace of God is seen in his blessings and benefits toward us in spite of our transgressions and errors. We are not invincible or infallible, but we are human, made by God and possessing incredible potential and promise. We fall down...but we get up again by the grace and mercy of our Heavenly Father! Pray for the recovery of others.

Don't look down on others without first looking at your life, don't judge others without first judging all the episodes of your life and don't allow depression and failure to make you quit and give up on yourself.

Listen at the text in the message bible:

Don’t interfere with good people’s lives; don’t try to get the best of them. No matter how many times you trip them up, God-loyal people don’t stay down long; Soon they’re up on their feet, while the wicked end up flat on their faces. - Proverbs 24:15-16

Eternal and Loving God,

So many times I have said no when I should have said yes and yes when I should have said no.

My past haunts me - decisions gone bad, relationships that fell apart, opportunities that fear stole from me.

I replay the notes to old songs of my life. I retrace my steps and beg you for a second chance.

So many things did not turn out like I planned.

Painful realities regularly revisit me. They desire to be my constant companions. But the Bible says that there is hope in you, Lord.

I will see hope in you. I will believe that in days to come, I will be able to turn back and look at my past and see beauty for ashes. - IN JESUS NAME , AMEN
