And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. - Hebrews 10:25 NLT

It is clear from scripture that worship as a faith community is a biblical imperative. God encourages, invites and commands us to worship together. Although we live in a highly individualized culture, in which we tend to avoid physical interaction with others, prefering to tweet and text. The opposite is true when it comes to our spiritual health and well being, we need Christian fellowship and worship.

The mistake we make is assuming worship is for us. Worship is for God alone. We benefit from participating in worship, but the object and subject of worship is always God. Christian worship is about God and for God. When we worship, we worship an audience of One. God alone.

Sometimes we go to church, but we don’t worship. We sing songs, but we don’t worship. We listen to sermons, but we don’t worship.

Christian Worship as a Community  involves surrender, sacrifice, and celebration

Worship matters to God and Worship should matter to you.

This Sunday, go to church and worship the Lord.
