And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

-Luke 9:23

Continuing thoughts on Christian Discipleship include addressing and accepting diversity as an essential part of God's plan for creation. The church is not always willing and ready to extend the "whosoever will" invitation. But we are commissioned to do so.

The political rhetoric is heated and cutting. Issues of race, immigration and sexulaity are hot button topics today. But the question I've been pondering is, Where does the church of Jesus Christ stand?

God's plan for discipleship is extended  to all persons. It is His invitation to experience grace, forgiveness, cleansing, strength and fellowship. It is not "cheap grace" however, it requires surrender and submission to God's rule and reign in our life.

But when we come to Jesus, we experience a wonderful change and we begin a new daily journey towards becoming what He intended.

The doors of the church are open... to all....
