Remain Focused

Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. -Philippians 3:15-18 (KJV)

Many of us struggle with staying focused. Our lifestyle is inundated with places to go, projects to complete and people to communicate with. The noble pursuit of happiness often takes us down the dangerous road of replacing accomplishment with activity. Though our life is filled with event after event there often is no elevation in regards to contentment and true fulfilment.

The game changer is God. But how do we remain focused on the most important relationship in life?

I read a mediation last week based on the Philippians 3 text by Eugene Peterson.

So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision - you'll see it yet! Now that we're on the right track, let's stay on it. - Philippians 3:15-16 MSG

Here are at least three (3) ways we can remain focused on God.

1. Start Every Day With God ( meditation and prayer)

2. Limit The Distractions ( moderation with technology and media)

3. Serve God By Serving Others ( Get involved in Ministry that matters)

Of course there are other methods to stay focused on our relationship with God. But these three may sum them all up.

Lord, give us singular focus on you. Help us to steward the time that you have entrusted to us. May you receive glory and honor through our faithful witness. In Jesus name, Amen
