3 Days of Prayer & Fasting for our Nation.

 

Verse for the Day

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Word for the Day

In three (3) days our nation will inaugurate the forty-sixth president of the United States of America. It will be both a moment of celebration and caution as we continue to experience the devastating impact of hate, division, and insurrection.

 

So, I have decided to pray and fast. I am praying for peace, productivity, and prosperity for our nation. I’m praying for courageous and compassionate leadership and justice for the oppressed. I’m praying because I believe in the power of prayer. I believe that God hears and answers prayer. I am praying for the president-elect and vice president elect and all persons who dare assume the mantle of leadership on any and every level.

 

I’m praying that people will come to believe and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

 

 

Prayer for the Day

Heavenly Father,

You are the Source of our confidence in all things. You have set a plan in place for this nation and You alone know its future. We watch in awe as You work through people and events.

 

As we witness the many things that are happening, we ask for Your mercy upon our nation. Be the Guide for Your people and keep hearts open to Your leading as decisions are made that will impact our lives and country.

 

Imprint Your will upon us as we pray for our leaders, over the pandemic, about jobs, about divisions within our government, and more. Holy Spirit intercede for us when we don’t have any more words and we open ourselves to Your will. Thank you for hearing us and never forsaking us as we ask in Jesus’ Holy Name, Amen.

 

 

Prayer Focus

  • Pray for the president-elect, vice president -elect and the incoming administration.
  • Pray for all elected officials in Congress.
  • Pray for God’s continued protection and blessing upon all of creation.
  • Pray for your neighbors and fellow Americans.
  • Pray for peace and understanding with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

 

Fast Focus

Give up the item or activity that seems to distract you and occupy most of your energy. In its place, give yourself to prayer and devotional bible readings. Set a time each day.
