Word for the Day
In my daily life I need to keep my appointments with God. The daily moments of both quiet time and personal reflection belong to God. My goal is to get closer to God. The decisions I make and things I pursue in life should reflect the intimacy I have with God. I intend on keeping God first in all things.
The things I need are promised in scripture when I seek God above all other things. I am not promised all the wealth and riches of this world, but the scripture does suggest that God will provide for my needs when I trust Him fully. I must pursue Him and His righteousness and resist the temptations in this world.
Prayer for the Day
Heavenly Father, I love you. I confess my confusion at time and my lack of commitment to You. I confuse my wants with my needs. I ask that you stay close to me, guide me, and grow me in my relationship with You. I want to give you all that I am and all that I have, so that Your glory might shine in this dark world. I need more of you. Please come into my life and stay close to me. I need you. In Jesus name, Amen.
