'Love your neighbor as yourself.' No other commandment is greater than these." - Mark 12:31
A simple commandment given by our Lord, illustrating the importance of our relationship not only with God but also with others. In a society center in "Me", it is a counter culture message that Jesus teaches both his disciples and scribes and those who would dare read the word seriously. We may have all the religious exercise placed to memory and we may be the most faithful of church goers. But if we have not learned how to show love to our neighbor and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, then our religion is no more than empty rhetoric.
We are commanded to not only love our neighbor, but we are admonished to do so with the same vigor, energy and devotion that we might give to ourselves. Christianity is not only vertical (You & God), but its very essence is made known in its horizontal dimension. (You & Others).
Let us learn how to be a good neighbor and a faithful witness to God's goodness and grace.
Join us today from 8 AM - 12 Noon for our Community Celebration at the Church.
