And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? - Luke 18:6-7

Educational, economic and health disparities within our nation serve as reminders that injustice remains a threat to those who are the most vulnerable in society. The number of persons of color and those below the poverty line represent a disproportionate number of american citizens  who cannot receive good health care, adequate housing and/or a quality education. We obviously live in an unjust world.

Yet, the Luke text encourages us to remain persistent in living out our faith. Jesus tells a parable about a widow who persistently pleads with a judge for justice. Finally, the judge relents and grants the widow's request. The text is tailored to teach us to be persistent in our faith and to never give up. We are reminded that our Heavenly Father will certainly grant justice for His chosen ones.

Although we live in a dark and unjust world, we have Someone who goes with us! We have Someone who is both Light and Justice! So always pray and never give up.
