First Lady Prentice was raised and adopted by her loving and devoted grandparents, the late Sterling Sr. and the late Josephine B. Horton. As a humble servant of God, First Lady Prentice brings a distinction of commitment and excellence through various ministries of the church including, Ladies of Distinction, a ministry that was developed out of her vision to ensure that young ladies between the ages of 12 and 18 have an outlet for growth and guidance that allows them the opportunity to express their true feelings without judgment and the “True Love Waits” abstinence program focusing on teenagers of the church. She believes that her personal life experiences have been God’s preparation for such a ministry.

Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, she also instituted the inception of the Annual Women Seminar to empower the women of God to believe in themselves, build self-esteem, to respect and love themselves for who God so wonderfully and fearfully made, and to encourage them to become better wives, mothers, sisters and friends. Yet in all these ministry efforts, she strives to keep her family first.
